Initial Impressions:

Good looking Connecticut wrapper, mild smell. Good draw, hay and grass just after lighting along with another taste i couldn't discern.

First Third Notes:

Cedar coming in, still taste some hay. Nice amount of smoke, burn a little irregular but not bad. Baking spices. Ash falls off easily. A little pepper

Second Third Notes:

Very fleeting note of either something floral or fruity, gone before I could zero-in. Surprisingly complex cigar.

Finishing Notes:

Earth and some mild pepper. Burn line corrected itself at some point, now nearly razor straight.

Review:

I have to say that this stick surprised me. I went in with pretty low expectations, knowing the brand to be a little mild for my tastes, and having noticed that the Cafe does not get a lot of love from other reviewers.

Maybe I got one of the best examples of this cigar, making me wonder if consistency is a problem with this blend. But I have to say that my cigar of the month club subscription is paying dividends since I would not have sought this stick on my own.

I definitely had an unpleasant taste shortly after lighting - some kind of chemical mixed in with hay and grass. But that was gone before a half inch in.

This cigar has been a real treat. Some tasting notes came and left before I could discern them, but what a ride. I could not do anything productive since this had me on my toes waiting to enjoy whatever came next.

I think Mac deserves a little more love for this blend, but maybe I just got lucky with this stick - makes me wish I had a couple more.
